Our First Father's Day

Since Matt and Noah set the bar high with Mother's Day, you know I just had to one up him come up with something just as good :)  We wanted to get on the road by 10ish to make the trek from my parents' house to the OBX.  Noah woke up somewhere around 6:30-7ish and we snuck downstairs to let Matt sleep in.  I bribed my Mama into helping me make making an omelet for Matt so we could give him breakfast in bed.  An omelet maker I am not. She said I should have fibbed and said I made it on my first try...Matt never would have believed that.
Somebody is SUPER excited that it's Father's Day!
Noah's Dad is Rad!
We were out the door by 10 as planned and on the road for a fun filled day of surprises for Matt.  I am terrible at keeping surprises so it was a miracle of the Sweet Baby J that I managed to keep this quiet...his gifts well that is another story.  He got those on Thursday :p This is progress!

We surprised Matt with a trip out to Roanoke Island to one of my favorite little places, Manteo.  We had lunch at the Full Moon Cafe & Brewery. We walked around the "downtown" area for a little bit. Noah pooped his pants and spit up some requiring an outfit change, then we were off to the NC aquarium.

He sat sideways in his highchair for the entire meal!
Sweet Cheeks!
We had a wonderful afternoon just the three of us at the NC aquarium!
"Dad did you see that?"
Too bad you can't see the gators...We love Swamp People!

The boys love them some sharks! :)

Awkward family pic...

Celebrate Fairfax!

I love fairs! They are the best! What isn't great about carni folk, kettle corn, cotton candy, cheesy rides (that look like they were around way before my Daddy was even born), homemade lemonade and the like?!? Well we had a great time at Celebrate Fairfax! even though it was hotter than five hells out! We had to take several breaks to get Noah out of the heat, but we all had a great time.  Noah however does not yet enjoy the thrill of the Merry-Go-Round...poor thing.
Getting ready to go pet some animals!
Sweet Cheeks!
He loved visiting the animals...
...probably because he got to stand and hold onto this gate...
Wasn't interested in the animals at all!
Riding the Merry-Go-Round for the first time!
Not a fan...he clung to me like a little koala right after this shot!
Favorite part of his day was under the tent holding onto the chairs and watching people!
People Watching!
Looking at trains with Daddy
Riding the train...not a fan.
Merry Go Round attempt number 2!
He loved it until it actually started moving!
Hopefully we'll be able to catch a few more fairs together this summer! :)

Rants

While catching up on my blogs I came across this little tidbit and thought I would share since I never mind sharing my two cents ;)

Bradshaw Family Shennanigans

Hi Friends!

We have so much to get catch up on, Lord Have Mercy!  I was MIA the week before our WONDERFUL vacation packing for said vacation and our other upcoming trip (seriously this back to back family vacations are a million times more stressful than you can possibly imagine when you throw a child into the mix--Mama is a spastic mess for sure!).

Here is what you will be hearing about in multiple posts to follow shortly:
  • Celebrate Fairfax!
  • Father's Day
  • Beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Nine Month Update
So what is this post all about?! Well its about getting caught up with some of my family that I haven't gotten to see in quite some time and for them to meet my little sweet cheeks! :)

We trekked down to good ol' Carrsville early Saturday morning (made it in 3.5 hours thank you 95 for having somewhat better traffic than a typical Friday afternoon!) and made it in decent time.  I then drove out to Smithfield (yes THE Smithfield as in Smithfield ham...just ask Paula Deen y'all) in my sister's convertible VW Bug. I cannot remember the last time I got to drive on some back roads with the top down blasting country music...ahhhhh summer! :) Every time I hear that song by Rodney Atkins it makes me think of this feeling right here, love it! :) Wow did I get off track...so I drove out to see my best good friend Casey and sweet baby Jack! He is soooooooooo precious! :)

The rest of the day we spent at my aunt and uncle's house celebrating the graduation of my cousin Jacob, the last of the 12 grand children :) It was so much fun because I haven't seen his sisters in over a year or more.  I also got to meet Lisa's son David for the very first time :)
