Catching up with the Zelmans...

I figured the best way to catch everyone up on the last few weeks would be to go bullet style, so let's do this
  • Noah can officially count to three in Spanish! :) Mama is super proud
  • Noah will wave bye bye and say adios when you leave
  • He thinks its a game when you shake your head no at him, he proceeds to break into hysterical laughter...this will not bode well for future disciplining...
  • He officially has 5 teeth!
  • Loves to play with all his toy cars and makes a fun vroom vroom car sound.
  • Additionally, loves to play with his dinos and they will of course roar.
  • The kid goes NUTS for Super Why, seriously its like crack. He gets so freaking excited when that theme song comes on runs in and proceeds to dance his little butt off and clap until he arms look like they will fall off.  I can't blame him, it is one catchy tune.
  • Our first official Thanksgiving as a family of three at our house was AMAZING! We loved the quiet and not having to load up in a car and travel any where. Our menu consisted of Tom the Turkey, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, stuffing, cranberry sauce (for matt), homemade apple pie (thank you Bobby Flay for the phenom recipe) and a pumkin cake.

And I don't need these green ones so they can just go over here...
Stuffing his pie hole!
My sweet little boy!
Loves his Da Da
  • Noah will clap, dance and jump on command! I love this kid! :)
  • He'll also give besos (kisses) when folks are leaving. Then he will turn from blowing kisses to making crazy noises with his mouth :P
  • He will raise his arms over his head for a Touchdown...we were extremely proud of this one :P
  • He'll say TA-DAH! when he has accomplished something and then follow it with clapping for himself! Love!
Ta-Dah! Touchdown!
Half time backyard football with DaDa
  • Noah finally got to meet Gavin when him and Beckah came to Carrsville for a visit. Yes I had refused to travel until Christmas, but I made an exception since we haven't seen him in over a year. The least I could do was make the trek to Carrsville.

  •  Noah attended his first football game at Lane Stadium against the Wahoos in which the Hokies obtained the Commonwealth Cup for the 9th year in a row. How bout them Hokies!?!
  •  Friday we busted out all the Christmukkah decorations and got the Stately Zelman Manor in festive order. Noah loved every minute of it from the latkes, to the tree lights to the menorah. He oooooooooed and ooooooed and clapped and clapped. He loved handing me every ornament for me to put on the tree. It was so sweet.

  •  He was just as adorable on our trip to the Bull Run Light Festival! Loved every minute of it. We're gonna make another trip before the season is over and hit up the little carnival at the end this go round.
  • We are planning a trip to the Gaylord Hotel in the National Harbor to see ICE and also partake in their indoor daily tree lighting, train rides and wait for it...indoor SNOW! So excited Noah is going to love it!
  • Other festive events planned: Zoo Lights at the National Zoo, Meadowlark's Winter Walk of Lights and though its not festive it is fun visiting the National Gallery of Art's exhibit on Lichtenstein!
  • Noah is officially climbing up and scooting down the stairs
  • He's also accomplished standing up from sitting on the floor, the whole balance thing was throwing him off for a while.
  • One of Noah's new favorite things is to feed people. Not an issue when its Mama, Dada or family (this includes Patty). When we were at the Virginia Tech game he was grabbing crackers to eat left and right, and this lady got in his face to talk to him. Cracker in her mouth! I was mortified, then I was like wait a minute you broke into his baby bubble so I couldn't get upset with how he responded. PS it was a half eaten soggy cracker....
  • Our little boy is turning into such a big boy with a bubbly social personality right before our eyes!
And we're loving (almost) every minute of it ;)

On the Go

I feel like our lives are in constant motion and we are always, always on the go.  I have worked really hard the past two weeks to mark off a lot of the items on my to-do list that mainly involve check-ups and personal maintenance.  I have successfully received a physical and have a new Family Practice doctor with a referral to a neurologist to go get myself checked out. We decided that I should get myself checked out first, then have more information to provide to the pediatric neurologist when we call about Noah. Why the neurologists? Aneurysms are genetic.  And they believe Malissa was born with hers, so its possible that I could have one or even Noah.  Hopefully, not but I'd rather be safe and make sure.

Friday I FINALLY got a much needed color, cut and highlight and Mama is super duper happy. I went dark and shorter which is always the norm for me in the winter. I like it shorter in the winter because it dries quicker so I can still do curly without having to use the blow drier (read: LAZY).  I like it longer in the summer so that I can get it off my neck easier (read: LAZY beach hair!).  This personal maintenance was just in time for our family pictures with our amazing photographer Marirosa (Photography by Marirosa) on Saturday at Great Falls.  I'd never been to Great Falls before but we LOVED it!

SN: Mama finally got herself an iPhone! And I'm obsessed with this new panoramic camera!

Our Family Session was a major success, so Holiday cards have officially been ordered.  For several years now, we have done a Christmas and Hanukkah card to send out to each side of the family/friends.  This year we are doing an all encompassing holiday card that is gonna make my life an million times easier! Here is a little sneak peek of my sweet, sweet boy!
Noah's sleeping has much improved in the last month and we realized what was going on, yes he was indeed teething. We officially have four teeth (two top, two bottom) with two more top teeth on their way!  I figured this would be how we got hit after having no teeth for 10 months :P We are officially down to only a night time bottle, with sippies of milk during the day!  And completely 100% on table food---And loving it I might add! :) We'll be taking him back in for his flu booster shot on Thursday.  I figured we'd give it a go this year and see how he does.  He got sick after the first shot, if he doesn't get sick again this season, then we'll make this annual.  If he still gets sick I don't think it will be worth it.

Finally, started Christmakkuh shopping for our families.  Usually, I'd be done by now, but that's life right?!? We've partaken in some amazing sales, steals and down right great deals for the holidays as well as holiday decorating of our little house! :)

We have Friday off to make another (and our final one until Christmas) trek down to Carrsville, this time its to see my cousin Gavin.  He's been in Denmark for over a year and has never met Noah, so I'm beyond excited for their meeting.

And just because I can't resist here is one more of my little ham!

The Scott Family Visit and Fall Fest

The Scott Family trucked it down to VA for their annual visit and no visit from the Scotts would be complete without CUPCAKES! Matt and I took Friday off from work to have a nice long weekend staycation in town with our Ohio Family! Friday we drove over to Georgetown which included lunch at Johnny Rockets and then dessert at Georgetown Cupcakes!!! :) Unfortunately, Sandy left us with extremely cold temps and CRAZY winds, but we could not be deterred from getting our beloved cupcakes.

After a fun day in Georgetown, we headed over to the Falls Church area for supper at the Mad Fox Brewery so the big boys could indulge in their own treats!
I know you just woke up but I need you to just listen to me for a second...

Saturday brought more blustery, chilly weather but we already had our hearts set on attending the Cox Farm Fall Festival again.
