Operation Lockdown Update

Let me start off by saying I drink a TON of water now! A TON! No Dews = WATER! I drink a little coffee first thing in the morning to get my caffeine fix for the day and help me to not be a complete grouch. So lots of water means lots of peeing which means I lose water weight....SWEEET!!! So week one of operation lock down was a success. Matt fixed good food, I monitored my snacking. And I worked out like it was my job! :) Every freakin' day...except I took the weekend off because I deserved it. I also deserved those 3 cupcakes (2 red velvet, 1 oreo) that Sister had waiting for me when I visited this weekend. When I was loosing weight for the wedding I only weighed myself once or twice a week because I get pissed when I dont lose. So I weighed in Monday...not good. I gained mucho weight since my last time on the wii :( booo! I hit that bad number :( Goal weight lose is now officially 20 pounds...maybe 25 but def 20. Weighed in on Wednesday and I lost 3 pounds--Holla! Weighed in on Friday and I had lost another 3! Six total for the week!!!! :) Hence my treat of 3 cupcakes! :) I've been rotating between Just Dance's sweat program and a customized wii fit program (I can burn 250-350 calories at a time on this baby) and a gold's gym thing that I can cardio box! Needless to say my husband is amazing and hooked me up! :) I went hard on the wii today...I was super scared for my weigh in, but guess what?!? I've lost 2 more pounds!! So I have to thank my wonderful husband for being the best support system and drill Sargent a wife could ask for :)

DEBT FREE!!!

Well until Jan. 19th when we close on the house and we start paying off a mortgage! But as of today my student loan has been paid off! :) Both our cars are paid off and the credit cards are clear! :) Life is good being debt free! :)

Operation Lock Down!

Last week (last week of 2010) Matt informed me that as of Monday (Jan 3rd) we would be going on LOCK DOWN!! Better eating every night for supper (Matt cooks!), healthy snack foods (bye bye junk food so sad!) and exercising everyday. OMG!!! So of course I took full advantage of 2010 still being around and ate all my Christmas candy and hoarded tons of food. Growing up I always had a super fast metabolism (Thank God for spellcheck because Matt say the reason I am a bad speller is I spell the way I pronounce and I def pronounce it MA-TAB-A-LISM!) and I was always super active. Well in the past three years it has def slowed down due to the amount of time I spend a day just sitting at my stupid desk. My sister and I both have always had AMAZING eating habits...for example we can eat an entire box of brownies, an entire sheet of raw cookie dough, an entire can of condensed milk, an entire bag of oreos...this is all in one sitting mind you! :) So you see the problem I have...I can't stop. People are like snack healthy that is all well and good until the ENTIRE bag of carrots is gone. Unacceptable! So I've moved to snacking in moderation. I have to make Matt be my drill Sargent and make sure I don't over eat. So I am on day #5 of lock down and I have only been mean once that I can recall...mind you I have cut out Mountain Dew (my life blood) and all sweets. MIZ central!!!! On day #2 of lock down my tooth started hurting some kind of bad so I tell Matt.
Matt: I'm sorry. What's the matter with it?
Me: It's hurting because I haven't had sweets in two days! It's my sweet tooth!
And that would be my brat moment because I turn into a four year old when I don't get my sweets!
In other news I have been exercising everyday and I'm sore as hell. I refuse to weight in yet. Let's just say Monday when I weighed in I was knocking way to close to a number I never want to see again!
I am sure Operation Lock Down will bring many more fabulous updates in the future!

Check me out!

As many of you may know I am a HUGE nerd and reading is my most favorite thing in the whole wide world...I used to want to be a librarian (sp? see why I didnt go into that field!). Anyway books are some of my most prized possessions. Thanks to a friend's sweet blog updates (you are awesome JMJ!) I borrowed the idea to post a virtual bookshelf! :) I am super excited that not only do I have somewhere to keep track of my reading...but I figured out how to put it on the blog! wooo hooo!! :) :)

Rockin' 2011 80s Style

We drove up to Cleveland the day before NYE for some QT with the Ohio Family :) Thursday and almost all of Friday was filled with the boys' Dirty Christmas Carol Jam Session. Becky and Duane's NYE party was 80s themed so we def did not disappoint :) The Scotts Me and Sara 80s footwear! Little Miss Emma made a tiny appearance :) Oh wow check out that eye make up! The Ohio Family! :) Silly boys!
We spent the rest of the weekend hanging out and catching up especially with little Miss Ali Scott :) Here is Ali playing with her Uncle Bear :)

So the New Year brings new resolutions and mine are as follows: 1. Attempt to post more. 2. Attempt to stay more positive this year...no more negative nancies! 3. Loose the "after wedding weight" that I gained. 4. Find a church to attend regularly. I think I never found a church before is that NOVA does not feel like home for me and there was no sense of community. It's really scary trying a new church solo, but I'm determined to put on my big girl pants and do it! :) The one attempt I did make was an EPIC fail because A) I was preached to that my partner has to be a believer and if not then I need to convert them B) Marriage is between a man and a woman. Not a view point Megan and I were expecting to hear up in liberal Northern Virginia :P

Where did 2010 go?

Seriously 2010 flew by!! We spent the first 5 months kicking Dan out of our apartment before the wedding...just kidding :) I miss him as my roommate. But in all seriousness we did spend it preppin' for the wedding :) The last bit of 2010 really rocketed by...obvi since I haven't made a post in ages. So really the only way to bring in this new year properly is by playing catch up! :)

The first weekend in December we were HOME! Holy smokes right?! We no worries we crammed it full of errands and house hunting! Yup house hunting. This was going to be our second Saturday of hunting for a house in hopes to have one by the time our lease ends on the apt. Well guess what WE FOUND A HOUSE!!! Its this cute little four bedroom town house in Centreville :) Yay for us!! And like a whirl wind everything just starting happening so quickly. We decided to make an offer so we filled out all the contract stuff (Thank God for my husband because I suck at understanding interest rates and all that jazz. All I am good for in these situations is my fabulous note taking abilities--I had a house hunting note book--and my PHENOM credit score! :D) that day. We wrapped up that weekend with a holiday party at the wonderful, beautiful Mirela's house. Lots of fun co-workers there. Lets just say that an entire bottle of wine and 200+ cream puffs dont mix well....hello toilet hugging time! Sunday morning I woke up fine...Thank the Good Lord! :) Our realtor called and informed us someone else was putting in an offer too...so we were freakin' out! Then I came down with the stomach bug...yes the real one not caused by wine and cream puffs! Here we are in the middle of one of the biggest changes in our lives and I am on my death bed. We find out Monday that we get the house and I cant jump up and down and scream and Holler about getting the house. I just manage a weak "yea!" :( BUT WE GOT THE HOUSE!!!! Our month was full of paper work paper work and more paper work! We'll be closing Jan 20th! Happy Birthday to me (one day later!) :) And unfortunately I do not yet have a picture of the front of the house :( But here is our soon to be backyard :)

We then celebrated Hanukkah with the Zelman family! :) Here is my favorite moment...Dan sportin' the confederate flag suspenders I got him! :)

We then jetted down to Savannah for a long weekend to celebrate my cousin Jessica's wedding! :) We spent all of Thursday in Savannah. Here we are enjoying the brisk December on River Street.

We apparently brought a cold front down with us so the temp was in the 30s the whole weekend...awesome. NOT! Friday night we headed to Rincon United Methodist for the rehearsal dinner..the highlight was Clyde using Grandma Hazel's camera to take a pic. She never goes anywhere without this camera and it never fails to run out of film and start automatically rewinding in the most awkward moments. Right when Clyde takes the pic...REWIND! Hilarious!

Saturday the whole family went down to River Street for some good shrimp! :) Here is Sister and Grandma in their rain bonnets.

Jessica and Matt had very nice wedding and she was a gorgeous bride :)

Two of my favorite things from the wedding was her hot chocolate table :) Yummy! And on their cake table they had pictures of their parents and grandparents from their wedding day :) I loved it! Too bad I already had my wedding ;)

The following weekend Matt had his boys weekend in Vegas with his dad and brothers so my parents brought Kateland down to stay with me. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary the same day Matt's parents celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary...CRAZY! Crazier still my friend Flavia's parents have the exact same day and year as my parents and our friend Laura's parents have the exact same day and year as Matt's parents! CRAZINESS! :P

Kateland and I spent a lot of time baking together while she was here! :) My waist has the evidence. We then went to Carrsville for an amazing Christmas with my family :) Sister straightened Kate's hair for Christmas Eve service

We always do Christmas Eve with the Vick Family (Mom's side) and we have been doing the white elephant for the past couple of years routing good gifts with gag gifts. This year was gag gifts...still to this day nothing will beat the shot gun shells and beef jerky! ;) My cousin Megan and Sister both got redneck wine glasses!
