Birthday Fever!!!!

We are T-minus six weeks away from Noah's very first birthday party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell this Mama is a little excited!?!?! Well you should see his Daddy...I mean we are having a dinosaur party so there is a lot to be excited about in the Zelman Household.  Per normal we have been out of town a lot visiting and the sort, so I had to buckle down and make some decisions and some creative license was cut in some areas of the party.  I would have liked to put together some cute invitations on shutterfly, but whatevs.  We ordered this really cute set from Oriental Trading.  Since this was cheaper, it gave me some of my creative license back to splurge in other areas:

Treat Bags: We order the little boxes from Oriental Trading that matched his set (y'all know I'm all about some matching!).   I was able to splurge on some fun dino inspired creations to fill these goody bags for our guests. (PS I've picked everything out I just need to order).

Name Tags: Not for our guests, but for all our treats.  Everything will have a dinosaur name and appropriate tag from the hot dogs to the sweet tea :) Super excited for this little craft project to come to fruition and share all the pictures from the party.

Cupcakes: I will attempt to make a dinosaur cake out of cupcakes for Noah's birthday.  Let's hope my pictures will look as good as this one. The remaining cupcakes will be stacked on a Volcano cupcake holder! :)

Pictures: I got this amazing idea from my cousin Rachel when she hosted my Uncle Andy's 50th birthday.  She printed black and white or sephia photos of my uncle from birth til now and then clothes pinned them to string hung along the wall.  Instead of string we will be using dino ribbon and then I'll be decorating the clothes pins with numbers to identify how old Noah was at the time the picture was taken.  No worries a few dinos will be thrown into the mix as well.

Other fun projects on my list:  Dinosaur cookies and making a stegosaurus out of a watermelon! :D You know I'll be posting my success (praying to the sweet baby J that it won't be a disaster) later in September! :)
